vcpPerformance syntax error in update statement (vmwarecp.log)

There are a number of things that can be causing this consolidation feature to not work, and to cause the syntax error in update statement that you have had.
This isn’t a comprehensive list but as a start for the common issues…

1. OS has to be in English, both for Windows 2003 and also VirtualCenter has to be installed in English.
2. Locale has to be set to English (United States) for at least where we have VirtualCenter and CP collector isntalled. If locale is set to anything else, it may fail. If locale has to be changed, restart VC after this change before trying again.
3. Domain capable account for collecting. Only ASCII letters in usernames and passwords.
4. Only ASCII characters anywhere in VirtualCenter, ESX, and in any VM hosted there. This means only a-z and 0-9 for ANY vm, notes, annotation field, cd, floppy, network name… not even one accented character in there.
